Delilah turns two

It's crazy to think that my little DeDe turned two years old yesterday. I feel like we just took her home. I could not possibly imagine me life with her. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me and she makes me so incredibly happy (I can only hope she feels the same way about me). Honestly, she has shown me an unconditional love I never though possible and through her I have learned how to enjoy some of the more simple things in life - like laying in the sun, chasing leaves, or good tummy rub that makes us both smile. I hope she knows how much she is loved here in our home, and this is gonna be super cheesy, but she makes our house a home- she makes our house the warmest place on earth.

So little D, thank you for teaching me life's greatest lessons and being the little Buddha in my life- you always look so ancient and all-knowing. Thank you for being kind to me when I'm having a bad day and giving me lots of kisses.  Thank you for loving me when I am unlovable. Thanks for telling me in your own way to slow down and smell the flowers and taking naps with me when we should be productive (you chewing your bone and me writing a paper). Thanks for having the cutest little dwarf walk on Earth and not having a tail to chase (just a little stump- you too smart for that anyway!).

But really, I am so happy your in my life and I and can't wait to snuggle with you on cozy winter nights for many years to come.

xx

Aloha #islandlife Pt.1

We had such an amazing time last week in Hawaii I truly wish I could re-live it all over again and not have to deal with the harsh winter reality of New England.

I'm not getting along with the cold lately, its putting me inside for my runs on the hamster mill and making it increasingly harder to get the Crossfit. Hawaii was such a nice break from that. I took complete advantage of the weather and ran outside almost everyday (my legs were not ready for a +40 mile week!!). Most days were spent poolside and while I wish we had done more on our trip I'm so OK with the fact we just relaxed. It had been a longgg 6 months coming. enjoy!!

More to come!! xx
